[np_storybar title=”App advice” link=””]For app developers just starting out, Michael Sikorski, co-founder and chief executive of Calgary-based app developer Robots and Pencils offers this advice:
Be comfortable being embarrassed when you first launch your software. In the very beginning we created a number of apple iTunes accounts and operated in stealth mode to experiment. We wanted to turn the crank as fast as we could to learn as much as we could and be smart about what to develop. Spy vs Spy hit the top of the apps store as a result of that early learning.
Look for a well thought out sequence of why people would want this app. If you can imagine a penthouse with three floors, I want to know why certain features are on each floor. It shows that you’ve played chess with yourself and there is some compelling slant to what you are doing.
