It’s no secret Audi has enjoyed much success recently racing in the World Endurance Championship, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It’s something of an unstoppable force, and if the 2014 R18 E-Tron Quattro is any indication, the competitive heat won’t be letting up anytime soon.
It might share the same name as the 2013 competitor, but there are a few tweaks to Audi’s 2014 racer. The first thing you’ll notice is the lights: They’re red. Along with its matte black finish, it’s easy to think the new R18 is not a car after all, but a satanic robot programmed to dominate its competition on the race circuit.
Beyond its sinister styling, the R18 E-Tron Quattro conforms to new WEC regulations. It sports a new front wing, which not only improves front-end downforce, but reduces manufacturing costs for Audi as well. The car itself is also narrower up front…
